Friends is grateful for the corporate and individual support that impacts the lives of our students for the better, one student at a time. We are always looking for community volunteers to read with our students, participate in community projects, help with application and resume writing, and lead practice interviews.
Initiatives such as Shiksha Daan under the Federation of India Community Affairs (FICA) actively involve the Indian community with the education and development of under-privileged youth in the Greater Cleveland area and is making a difference with the Breakthrough Schools. Read about it here.
Friends introduced over 600 new people to Breakthrough’s mission and schools in 2012-2013. Through 66 cultivation events, Friends exceeded its goal and engaged hundreds of visitors to take the next step to donate or volunteer for the network.
With school building renovations continuing to accommodate the growth of our schools, hundreds of volunteers from local companies including Lubrizol and JoAnn Stores, donated hours of time, and in some cases supplies, to help clean, paint, landscape, restore, and furnish the buildings. Hundreds of additional volunteers also support our network through mentoring and tutoring our students throughout the year. Together, along with our board and committee members, Breakthrough’s volunteers donate thousands of hours to the network each year.
Simply stated, thank you.
If you are interested in volunteering at one of our schools, please contact Katie Emerson at firstname.lastname@example.org or (216) 373-2685.
